Thierry Bonnet, photojournalist.
Light, his primary material, a noble and integral part of life, transports his gaze beyond pretences.
« To take photographs is to write with light » confides the author.
Through his portraits of humanity, treated with subtlety, poetry and occasionally humour, he sharpens his vision of the world.
Through his travels in Europe, the United States and Africa, his curiosity is stirred and his photographic composition elaborated.
An awareness of the fleetingness of life makes him want to immortalise people, moments and expressions.
Therefore, the human image is at the heart of his images, treated with subtly. Notably in the last directions on the theme « Towns by Night, Towns of light ».
In 1998 Thierry Bonnet won his first challenge by solely leading a project originally and collectively, on the theme of women’s breasts.
Before the successful completion (itinerant exposition) Macha MERIL wanted the man and his work to be prolonged by the publication of a book « Desseins de femmes ». Lio and Maïtena BIRABEN also equally participated in the last work « Mères Veilleuses ».
In this impulsion, and equally in his works in press photography, the author develops his photographic writings around new exhibitions that will no doubt be subject to publication in 2013.
